Fishing Reports March 2004

March was a great month for the Hooked Up. There were a variety of fish in the area and our customers had a great time catching them! Dave and Ed from Rhode Island started the first morning off by catching three dolphin fish and the first sailfish of the month. That afternoon Adam and Cindy from New York added to the day by catching bonita's. Our second day was Tom, Jeff, and Tom from the West Coast of Florida, Virginia and the East Coast of Florida and they had a great morning catching a 12 pound skipjack, a 15 pound dolphin fish and then they landed a nice 50 pound golden amberjack. What a nice morning of fishing! That afternoon Brett, Matt, and Zollie "Goodie", all caught nice amberjacks, ranging from 30 pounds to 45 pounds. The morning of the 5th, Dan, Gary, Marty, Murph, Andrea and Sully from Hingham, MA. landed 2 nice dolphin fish and a 96" sailfish. Super Catches by all! Now our afternoon trip turned out to be something else....Little did we know when DJ, Seve, Ben and Charles from Nashville, TN. came on board the Hooked Up for a 4 hour trip that it would turn into 10 hours!!! But, I do have to say we all had a blast! DJ and Ben both caught nice golden amberjacks and Charles and Seve brought in 2 nice sailfish. After such a nice day of fishing everyone was so stoked we decided to go in and get Sherrie and make a night of it, and all I can say is, it was a great night! Hey guys, it was great to meet all of you and we look forward to seeing you again on the Hooked Up! On the morning of the 6th, Dave, Chris, Mike, Jack and Scott from Boston and Ft. Lauderdale came out with us and landed several dolphin fish. That afternoon Kevin, Ed, Julie and Ryan from Miami, Colorado and Ft. Lauderdale went out with us and caught a giant Thrasher shark! What a great catch!! On the 9th we fished with Matt and friends from here in Florida and they caught jacks and several kingfish. Then on the 11th we had Bob Snead and Dennis on board and they caught kingfish and 2 big amberjacks. After that all day trip we took Thomas and Tim out swordfishing and Tim landed a nice swordfish. What a day! The next morning we were joined by Conner and his dad from Virginia and they caught kingfish and then that afternoon Todd, Kelly, Craig and Shane went out with us and landed kingfish and an amberjack. Our next trip was the afternoon of the 15th and we were joined by Rich and Amber from Vail, Colorado and they caught the first wahoo of the month. On the 16th we had Adam, Jackie, Jeff, Meredith and Elliott from Kentucky and the UK and they had a great morning catching amberjacks. That afternoon Brian, Rachel, Kyle, Jon and Catherine from Boston went out with us and they also landed amberjacks. On the afternoon of the 17th, Kevin, Stacie, Ray and Ryne from Coral Springs, Florida had a great trip bringing in a wahoo, 4 kingfish, a black tip shark and then to finish it off they also landed a golden hammerhead shark! Great fishing! On the 18th we had a repeat customer of ours from Los Angelos, California, Jem Woods and his son Joe. We always enjoy having Jem on board and this day he and Joe landed an amberjack, kingfish, 4 dolphin fish and one of the largest barracudas we have ever caught on the Hooked Up! On the 19th Chris, Steve, Bryant, Tommy and Mark joined us and they enjoyed catching dolphin fish. That afternoon Keith and Mike from St. Louis also caught dolphin fish as well as a nice amberjack. On the 20th Jem and Joe were going to go out with us again but Jem was not feeling well so we took the day to do maintenance on the boat so we could be ready for the next trip. The morning of the 21st we took out John, Robin, Mike and Paul from Oklahoma and they caught kingfish and amberjacks and that afternoon Bill, Shannon and Claude landed jacks, a blue fish and an amberjack. The morning of the 22nd, Anthony and Sara from Boston joined us and they caught an amberjack and then that afternoon Bill, Alan, and Mel from Indiana and Minnesota came on board and caught bonita's and dolphin fish. Next out with us was a good friend, Todd Bennett and All Fosgitt from Midland, Michigan and we all had a great time visiting and catching bonita's, kingfish and 5 dolphin fish. It was great as always Todd! After that trip we had high winds come through the area so we shut the boat down the 25th and 26th, but finally the winds calmed down enough to get out on the afternoon of the 27th. The brave souls that joined us were Sam, Bill, Loring and Brett from Tennessee, New York, and DC. and they had a great afternoon catching a nice blacktip shark, a great amberjack and 2 really nice dolphin fish. Super trip guys!!! On the morning of the 28th we had our friends from the baseball playoffs on board, Mike and Doug and they landed 2 amberjacks. That afternoon I decided it was time for some fun fishing so I took my son, Luis, my daughter Samantha, a friend of ours, Cove and my wife Sherrie out on a swordfishing adventure. We had a great time just getting to be together and then to top the night off Samantha caught her first swordfish. Check out her picture in our picture gallery! Way to go Samantha, you kicked butt! The morning of the 29th Peter Sr, Peter Jr, and Greg from New York came out with us and they did great catching bonita's, 2 amberjacks, 4 kingfish and to end the trip they brought in a blacktip shark. Super morning guys! That afternoon Matt and Lauren from Boston went out with us and caught 2 amberjacks. The morning of the 30th Tobi and Gary from Hollywood, Florida caught 3 amberjacks and then that afternoon Jim, Joey, Elizabeth and Stan landed 2 jacks. Our last trip of the month was an all day trip with Daniel, Penny, Jack and Dennis from Coleman, Alabama and they did great, catching a nice kingfish, a 25 pound grouper and then they landed a hammerhead shark.
